Mr Blair's Vanity

This rather clever piece by Pierre Moscovici aims to play on Blair's vanity and insinuate that he will lose his European intermediary role. Nice try.

Basically the argument is that Blair's role as intermediary between America and Europe will go if there is a war. Well Blair's name may be mud if they go ahead (only to be salvaged by going into the Euro), but the traditional role of intermediary will remain.

If even as despised a PM as John Major could fill this role, then Blair shouldn't be a problem.
